Al-Mustafa University Ready to Sign MoU with Najaf-Based Quranic Center

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The chancellor of Al-Mustafa International University said the university is ready to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Specialized Center for Quranic Sciences in Najaf.  

 

Speaking in a meeting with the officials of the center who had travelled to Iran to attend the 33rd International Islamic Unity Conference, Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Abbasi said the MoU could be on scientific and scholarly cooperation.

He further underlined the need for development of Quranic fields in universities and seminaries and said Al-Mustafa University has offered new Quranic fields of study.

Officials of the Najaf Specialized Center for Quranic Sciences, for their part, explained about the center’s activities and educational programs and highlighted its scholarly level.

The center is affiliated to the Isra Institute that operates under the supervision of Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli.

Themed “Ummah unity in defending the al-Aqsa Mosque,” the 33rd International Islamic Unity Conference began in Tehran on Thursday, with 350 personalities from 93 countries in attendance, and concluded on Saturday.

Marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), it is held annually in an effort to lay the ground for stronger unity and solidarity among Muslims and provide solutions for their problems.
